Bishop Michael Burrows is planning a Rapid Road Tour and Sermon Marathon from September 13 – 29th this year.
He will be stopping at 66 places in the Diocese,
giving a short reflection based on each of the 66 books of the Bible,
all on the theme of the empowerment of women through literacy. This is a Bishops’ Appeal fund-raiser and money raised will go to literacy projects run by the
Mothers’ Union in Ethiopia and Feed the Minds in the Congo.
It follows on from previous successful road tours – his ‘Stations at the Stations’ whistle-stop train journey, his playing of 150 church organs and his vintage vehicle drive. Now it is Route 66!
He is asking that everyone get behind this to remember those less fortunate, the value of education and how the riches of the Scriptures can motivate us in our generosity and discipleship.
LET’S DO BREAKFAST…..
He will be in the school on Tuesday 26th at 9.15 and speaking on Philippians, then in the cathedral at 10am and on Colossians.
Please come and let’s do breakfast together after the sermon (maximum 15 minutes) as he has to be in Stradbally at 10.50. €5 in aid of this project.
